The Walk gets underway after the Engine 1 / Ladder 24 Stop. See Steven McDonald (left),
FDNY Chief of Dept. Cassano (ctr) and FDNY Chaplain Christopher Keenan (right). Note the traffic flowing freely as we walk. The NYPD escorts us through the streets in an organized and timely fashion with "safety" being the most important factor. The Walk takes about 4 hours to complete.
The 15 Year Anniversary will soon be upon us. A day to remember Fr. Mychal F. Judge who stood in the lobby of the World Trade Center praying the Rosary. He was somehow alerting God to show forgiveness and support to his men who were evacuating over 25,000 men and women from the World Trade Center on 9-11-01. Fr. Mychal F. Judge would later be listed as the first casualty of that dreadful day.
On Sunday September 4th, 2016 we will once again retrace his steps from St. Francis of Assisi (142 West 31st Street) to St. Peter's Church (corner of Church & Barclay St.) We will begin at 8:45am with the praying of the Rosary, followed by a Catholic Mass at 9:30am. The Walk is scheduled to get underway at around 10:30am after the conclusion of the Mass. The Walk is non-denominational, so people of all faiths can take part. We hope you can join us. For more information please call
John Bates at (516) 238-0952.

The Father Mychal F. Judge Walk of Remembrance will take place on Sunday September 4th, 2016.
We begin at St. Francis Church at 9am with the praying of the Rosary. A Catholic Mass will follow and then after the Mass the Walk commences. We will stop at various Firehouses and Police Precincts praying from scripture and remembering those who made the Supreme Sacrifice on 9-11-01. We pray for all that we lost on 9-11 and those that suffer the same fate from exposure years later.
Please come and join us for a
Day of Remembrance.
We look forward to seeing you all.
And don't worry if you cannot make the full 3.43 mile walk. We have vehicles there to assist you;
Engine 343 and other vehicles from the FDNY Fire Family Transport Foundation.
